One row per line item, with date, merchant, description, quantity, unit_price, amount, subtotal, tax, tip, total, currency, payment_method, receipt_number and source_file.
Receipt-level fields repeat on each row so filters and pivot tables just work. Receipts that only print a total become a single summary row.
Dates are ISO (2026-09-27) so every spreadsheet sorts them correctly. Amounts are plain numbers with a dot decimal — no currency symbols to strip.
The file is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so €, £ and accented merchant names open cleanly in Excel too.
Drop up to 25 receipts at once — PDFs and photos mixed — and download one combined CSV. The source_file column tells you which receipt each row came from.
ReceiptCSV adds up the line items and compares them with the printed subtotal or total. If they don't match — a smudged photo, an unusual layout — the file is flagged so you can fix it before it lands in your books.
